Requests
are the messages used by the Ping utility to determine whether a system on
the
network with a specific IP address is functioning. Sometimes people use ICMP
Echo Request messages to stage a denial-of-service attack against another
com-
puter. The computer that is the target of the attack is so busy processing
Echo
Request messages that it cannot perform its regular functions. This type of
filter
can prevent such an attack from succeeding.
10. Click OK twice to close the Inbound Filters and Local Area Connection
Properties
dialog boxes.
11. Close the Routing And Remote Access console.
