Windows Calendar

Windows Calendar is another collaboration tool new to Windows Vista. As with other calen-

daring software, it allows you to make appointments and reminders and to configure tasks. It

works as a collaboration tool because for the first time an application that is included with the

operating system allows you to publish and subscribe to shared calendars without any central-

ized infrastructure like a Microsoft Exchange server. To create a new appointment, click the

New Appointment button in the tool bar. This adds a Details pane, shown in Figure 9-19, to

the right side of the Windows Calendar screen. When you have finished providing appoint-

ment information, clicking elsewhere on the calendar closes the Details pane.
