9. Navigate down to the bottom of the Power Options Advanced Settings dialog
box, and
expand the Battery node. Expand the Low Battery Level, and raise the On
Battery figure
from 10% to 15%.
10. Click OK to close the dialog box, and then click Save Changes.
Practice 3: Creating a Custom Power Plan
In this practice, you will create your own power plan. To complete the
practice, perform the fol-
lowing steps:
1. Log on to Windows Vista with a user account that is a member of the local
administra-
tors group.
2. From the Start menu, open the Control Panel in Classic View.
3. Open the Power Options item.
4. Click Create A Power Plan. On the Create A Power Plan page, select Power
Saver, and
enter the plan name as Power Saver II. Click Next.
5. In the Change Settings For The Plan: Power Saver II, configure the
settings to never turn
off the display or put the computer to sleep if the computer is plugged in,
as shown in
Figure 14-23. Click Create to create the plan.

6. Verify that the Power Saver II plan is now being used.
7. To restore your computer to its default power saver configuration, select
the Balanced
plan. Click Change Plan Settings, and then click Restore Default Settings
For This Plan.
